On Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 January 2020, the Union of Czech and Slovak Zoological Gardens (UCSZOO) held a meeting of the Commission for Reptiles and Amphibians at Prague Zoo.

The Czech Republic is experiencing an unprecedented wave of solidarity with Australia. Hardly anyone remained indifferent to the fate of its fauna that is being devastated by fires. Czechs are looking for ways to help. Only the Prague Zoo’s collection itself has raised more than eleven million crowns in two weeks!

In no time at all, Prague Zoo has managed to raise a sum to help Australia that has surpassed all expectations. In just three days, 876,608 crowns were collected through the fundraiser announced by the zoo on Monday evening. Another CZK 160,000 comes from the “Three Crowns from Entry” project.
