The meeting was attended by 44 participants including two foreign guests – a leading European herpetologist specialising in turtles, Peter Praschag from Turtle Island in Graz, Austria, and Shannon DiRuzzo, a veterinary turtle specialist involved in many rescue and conservation projects in the US and Asia.

The participants listened to 18 lectures. Speaking on behalf of Prague Zoo were Nataša Velenská (Terrariums at Prague Zoo from the Past to the Present) and Petr Velenský (Titicaca in Prague Zoo). Naturally, the evening tour took in the Titicaca water frogs, which included a presentation of the facilities. On the second day the meeting finished off with a demonstration of feeding the group of male Komodo dragons in the Indonesian Jungle pavilion.
