Children’s Tram
In fine weather, children (up to the age of 12) can enjoy a ride on the mini tram in the Children’s Zoo. A ride costs CZK 20 and lasts approximately 3 minutes, with the tram completing three circuits.
The children’s tram was introduced to the zoo in 1976. It is modelled on the Ringhoffer trams that operated in Prague from the early 1930s. It carries the number 11—the same as the tram that served the line to the Divoká Šárka area in Prague 6 in 1963. The tram was hand-built by Vratislav Paldus and then operated by his wife, Jaroslava Paldusová, for over 40 years.
Children’s Tram Operating Hours:
- 10:00 am – 5:30 pm – April to May
- 10:00 am – 6:30 pm – June to August
- 10:00 am – 5:30 pm – September to October
- 10:00 am – 3:30 pm – November (weather permitting)
