"The Medal of Friendship is awarded by the President of Mongolia to foreign organisations and personalities, who contribute to the country's development or to preservation of its heritage. It is the highest possible award given by the head of state," explained Zumberellkham Dorjdamba, the Mongolian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, who handed over the award. "Within the project called Return of the Wild Horse there have been 15 horses transported to Khomiin Tal and Takhin Tal wildlife sanctuaries in the last four years. The horses have bred 9 young already, which is fascinating," he added.
"The in situ projects belong to our priorities, and their outcomes depend on many employees and colleagues, therefore the award belongs primarily to all of them. We very much appreciate this award, it presents a great motivation to continue in our efforts," Miroslav Bobek, the Zoo director, stated.
