An early evening visit to Prague Zoo will cost just 100 CZK throughout the summer holidays. All visitors can enter the zoo for this special price after 5 pm. The offer runs from 1 July to 31 August and applies to physical tickets purchased at any ticket office between 5 and 7 pm. While the zoo gates, pavilions and restaurants close at 7 pm, the grounds remain open until 9 pm.

“Last year’s summer evening discount proved very successful, encouraging especially Prague residents to visit the zoo on weekdays after work and make the most of the long summer evenings,” says Prague Zoo Director Lenka Poliaková. “From our experience, visitors also used this opportunity to avoid the hottest parts of the day or to observe animals that become more active towards sunset, such as Tasmanian devils, small and large felids, or wolves,” she adds.

Other animals active in the early evening include wombats, fossas, tayras, coatis, red pandas and various bird species. In addition to owls, these include species accustomed to flying to their roosts at dusk. Particularly lively are the walk-through African Rocks aviary beneath the chairlift, the Bird Wetlands exhibit compound, where cranes and a variety of waders can be observed in the late hours, and Darwin Crater, home to striking species such as red-tailed black cockatoos and rufous night-herons.

The summer evening discount applies after 5 pm to adults, students, children, seniors and even canine visitors. The only exception is visitors aged over 70, who continue to enjoy entry to Prague Zoo for a symbolic 1 CZK.

Prague Zoo is open daily from 9 am during the summer season. On hot days, both visitors and animals can cool down thanks to a total of 28 misting stations distributed throughout the zoo grounds.
