CZK8 from every ticket to Prague Zoo will go to biodiversity conservation

One of the key missions of zoos is to protect biodiversity. Prague Zoo mostly finances its in situ projects with funds from each entry. This has now risen from 5 to 8 CZK. Jana Komrsková, Deputy Mayor for the Environment, made the announcement at today’s opening of the Faces of CITES exhibition.

“Besides protecting endangered species and returning them to the wild, Prague Zoo also provides methodological and material assistance in a number of countries around the world and educates local communities,” Komrsková said. “It is not by chance that it recently received the highest award - the WAZA Conservation Award. Now it will be able to expand its activities even further.”
Prague Zoo’s representatives will present all the latest news and the current state of its biodiversity conservation activities on five continents at a press conference held in the Education Centre on Tuesday, 30 May at 10 a.m. Media representatives can now get accreditation for this at masek@zoopraha.cz.
