Polar bears have long been a mainstay of Prague Zoo—first kept here as early as the 1930s. At the exhibit near the zoo’s northern entrance, you can admire these magnificent predators up close, including their impressive swimming skills.

Coming from polar regions, these bears enjoy cooling off. Their enclosure therefore includes a special ice maker and a large pool, separated from the visitor area by nothing more than glass. Watching them play in the water with various toys is a real treat. Even more breathtaking will be the underwater view in the new Arctic exhibit, currently being built next to the Northern Forest.
