Visitors, accompanied by experienced guides equipped with lamps, are able to peer through the shadows of the tropical night at Komodo dragons or chance upon the sleepy orangutan Kama in the Indonesian jungle; they will pause at the antelope enclosure and the African House pavilion with its large herd of giraffe and aardvark.
Concerto of Wolves howl into the night
Visitors will turn their backs on the Africa House and head around the enclosure of the elegant Maned Wolves who, along with many other dashing wolves, provide virtuoso evening concerts that spice up many of the evening walks. Wolf howling is a profoundly unforgettable experience not to be missed. A frequent cantankerous character of the evening ZOO walks is the Brown Hyena who spends the whole day sleeping; then there is and a herd of Asian Wild Horses which have just had a new foal born on 2nd August. The walk concludes with happily snorting zebras and the muffled snuffling sighs of sleeping polar bears.
What will you see?
During the 1.5 hour guided tour visitors will find out everything that is interesting to know about animal night life in the wild as well as in the ZOO…. Tours are leaving every August 2011 Friday and Saturday at 20:30, 21:00 and 21:30 PM. The first walk is at 20:30 and is for families with children and has a specially customized commentary, other times are for adult visitors.
