Gorilla´s pavilion fully opens
Prague Zoo has lifted restrictions on visits to the baby gorilla which born to female gorilla Kijivu.
The gorilla family coped with the sudden flow of visitors without any problem. The visitors were let into the pavilion in groups of a limited amount of nine at a time. The zoo’s director decided that the visits no longer need to be regulated, so it is now possible to visit the gorillas without any restrictions.
Prague Zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Gorillas will be let into the exhibition area after 10 a.m. and will spend the whole day there except for one hour, between 2 and 3 p.m. when they will be having a snack. If the weather is good, keepers will also open the passage leading to the outside exhibition.
Not Nne
The name for the baby gorilla is yet to be chosen. People sent their suggestions via the Internet website www.pomahamegorilam.cz. Following the logic of things, the new gorilla should be named three in Swahili language (Moja – One, Tatu – Two), i.e. Nne.
However, as Swahili is not the most prevalent language in the area where gorillas live in nature, the zoo asked people for their co-operation. Besides, it is not yet sure, whether the baby is a boy or a girl, so the name is not likely to be chosen before the sex is known.
