Birth of Another Baby Gorilla

The newborn stayed without its mother for several hours and this is why the keepers picked it up from its coop and placed it in an incubator. The father of the baby,Richard, has just turned 20. Its mother Bikira is not taking care of the baby properly because she was brought up by children and she came to Prague after the previous important gorilla births took place. These were the births of three baby gorillas by Kijivu and this is when Bikira could have gained much needed mothering experience. Bikira was born on 12th August 1995 in Amsterdam. She was brought up by humans and in November 1995 was placed into a group of babies in Stuttgart, three years later she moved to Belfast and last year she came to Prague.
